2. MMH Memorial Day Weekend Cook Out Social
3. An awareness cook out in Staunton, Virginia hosted by MMH Street Team Members for those interested in learning more about Project Meet Me Halfway. After dinner we will discuss MMH, our cause, and how people can get involved and make a difference. We will also be signing up new Street Team Members! Those interested in attending (or donating food for the event) should RSVP with Felecia Kiser at felecia@projectmmh.org by May 27, 2010 at which point you will be given location information.
Event 2:
1. May 31, 2010
2. MMH Foster Parent Appreciation Day
3. Mid-Atlantic Street Team will be making Foster Parent Survival Kits and giving them to People Places of Staunton, Virginia to distribute to their foster parents for MMH Foster Parent Appreciation Day! Survival Kits are a creative and fun way to let someone you know you are thinking of them and, in this case, spread the word about MMH! Each kit will consist of the following:
Almond Joy- thank you for adding joy to the life of a foster child
Rubber band – Be flexible. Things might not always go the way you want
Puzzle Piece – to remind you that you are an important piece in the journey of a foster child
Eraser – so everyone can start each day with a clean slate
Bean – because you have always “bean” there when they have needed you
Toothpick – to pick the good qualities in everyone
Candle – to remind you that you are a light to lead the way for foster children
Bandaid – to heal hurt feelings
Rose – you rose to the occasion and taken these children in
Duct Tape – when you have tried everything else you still have one more option
Lifesaver – for all of the times you have come to the rescue
Smiley Face – for making foster children smile
Crayon –because you color the world with love
Bear – you make life “bear”able for foster children
Mint – we appreciate your commit“mint”
