Goal: To provide a safe home for Middle Tennessee's older teens in Foster Care

Overview
Despite a long record of outstanding service, Monroe Harding is severely constrained by its facilities and resources to carry-out our programs. Not only do we lack space to accommodate more young people, but the floor plans, style, and age of our buildings inhibit our efficiency and effectiveness.
At any given point in time, 10-20 youth are on a waiting list to become residents at Monroe Harding; the ability to include more is therefore a priority.
We need different types of residential spaces to correspond to the different phases through which youth need to progress as they transition to independent living. These include group homes, dormitories, and independent living space.

Our cottages fall short of our needs. They include hiding places limiting our staff from counseling one person while watching another. Their bathroom layout maximizes conflict, and there is no safe place for residents to meet with family members.

How will the 250K be Used?

Thanks!
