MMH Halloween Party

MMH street teamers have partnered with People Places, a local foster care agency in Staunton, Virginia, to plan and implement a project that will be fun for our youth!

The teens of the of the agency's Independent Living Program have been instrumental in developing and implementing this project for themselves and younger foster youth. As they do so they are learning life skills such as planning, teamwork, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.

The MMH Halloween Party will be held at the Booker T. Washington Community Center (1114 West Johnson Street Staunton, VA 24401) from 2:30pm-4:30pm. There will be live performances by The McTell Brothers as well as Halloween games, activities, and a costume give away to the youths who otherwise would do without.

The Staunton Police Department will be in attendance to give out safety information and work an activity station with the youth. Also attending will be the wonderful people from the Staunton Lowe's to do a "Build and Grow workshop" with the kids!

Foster youth will also be able to enjoy pizza donated by BROTHER'S PIZZA AND ITALIAN RESTAURANT, candy donated by Hershey Chocolate of Virginia, and snack cakes donated by Little Debbie's.

We are in need of new costumes and other odds and ends. We can not do this without your support or the support of the individuals and businesses who have already donated!
